In November 2016, Chelsea Station Magazine published William Sterling Walker's new essay on Edmund White's book, The Flâneur: A Stroll through the Paradoxes of Paris (part of Bloomsbury’s “The Writer and the City” series.)

The essay, "Sentimental Ex-Patriot," covers White's book as both memoir and as travel guide. William also recounts his own adventures in Paris, some inspired by White's book.
